One way to figure out a backsplash is to take one of the lighter colors in the counter and look for a simple tile that also works well color wise with the cabinets. You want the countertop to be the star without a competing backsplash. That is usually too busy.

The granite is very pretty. A white or cream subway tile would probably look very pretty too. If you don't like subway tile, you could go with a larger or longer tile or a different shaped tile. If the tile is smallish, like an arabesque, do not do a contrasting grout. That would be too busy.

So, I don’t factor in the floor tile color? This granite color or lighting is really pulling a green color from my tile that I didn’t notice before. and it looks busy.

I also took down track lighting and had 6 led flush mount lights installed, which might be the cause.
