Sorry, but I think that what's shown is very poor quality work and I would definitely complain!!!

Yikes!! What the heck did they use to cut that wood....the beaver from the Duluth Trading commercials?! Although i've never hired anyone to do work in my home, I wouldn't hesitate for one second about complaining.

That's low-end-handyman-level work. I'd say it's acceptable if the bid was no more than one-third of the average of all bids, in which case you got what you paid for.

OMG, thats terrible. No, dont accept it. I think my great grand kids could do a better job than that. Doesnt even look like new wood. I really hope you havent paid them yet, please dont.. I would make them tear it all out, and hire a trim contractor to come in and redo it, since it is pretty obvious, they are not capable of even doing a simple miter. The trim caught your eye, but, how is the other work they have done. I would definitely worry about anything done in the bathroom. Maybe get an inspector in there, to check things out.

100K job? 50K job? 5K job? It's not acceptable, but you cant expect diamonds for rhinestone prices either. That's not even rhinestones. It's rock candy.

It has that low bid unlicensed handyman no permits or inspections look to it. I'd bet there are a LOT more problems than the trim work. Like that bathroom and stairs being code compliant.

Don't let them do electrical work.
