What should I do with the shower/tub area to create a clean, bright and contemporary look that "pops" as you enter the room?

The bath/shower are front and center as you enter the room and i think the tiles will play a big part in the design. I love a white tile, but wonder if it's too stark and boring. I'm also terrified of tiles that have a lot of movement out of fear that I'll end up with something too busy.

I should also note that we have already decided to replace the wall between the shower and tub with glass and we may replace the tub with a deep soaker alcove tub (allowing room for a larger vanity).

I've been at this for a while and I'm stuck! I think I need some fresh eyes on this project! I'd love some advice from you wonderful people in the houzz community!
