how would this look painted?

What are your thoughts on this table painted? Yes or No. if yes, paint the whole piece on color or paint frame and leave the drawer wood? What color do you see? Aqua/teal or creamy white. The room is brown, aqua, coral and a touch of olive.

No to painting that lovely little table. Change your lamp to something aqua/teal or creamy white.

The lamp will likely be replaced. My problem is, the two dressers and vanity are all dark like the table.

    No no no...

Don't paint that. The top looks to be leather?

It's lovely. And it's okay for wood to look like wood :)

I sense that you'd like to paint it and if so, I would recommend a creamy tone to give light to the room. I would spray paint the pulls to a dark brown or bronze tone.

Any way to leave the leather as it is? I would hate to see it painted.

I wouldn't paint it. Purchase a couple of painted pieces and put the vintage wood ones in another bedroom.

Agree I wouldn’t paint. If you do I would not leave the drawers stained. I think it just looks like the piece wasn’t finished.

Is the top leather or is that darker stained wood? If leather I don’t think it will look good painted with a partial leather top.

I wouldn't paint that charming piece either. Looks to be in good condition too.

I wouldn't paint -- I have two of the exact same end tables! They are so classic!

The tops are leather. Sounds like the concensus is to not paint. I'm still mulling it over. Thanks for the input.

    I vote no.

I say paint it teal or cream white.

The top does appeared to be a leather insert with gold leaf. I wouldn’t touch the piece. There are other ways to lighten up a room besides painting the furniture.

Cor, if you want you could, of course, show the rest of the room...Perhaps we could come up with some suggestions for you to achieve whatever look you're going for.

You already know about the lamps, but sometimes just another perspective helps. Maybe you "see" your room in a certain way, but the majority of us see it differently.

    Just a thought.

Another vote for not painting .

It could look nice painted actually. It depends on how you want to paint! Since we have no idea what the room looks like and what your design focus is for this it’s hard to say! This doesn’t look like a very expensive piece and it’s not old. Yes it has a “ leather” top but if you painted it black that would look fine. More info is needed here.

I decided to paint just the drawer front, but now I am wondering if I should paint the sides as well? I am not planning on painting the top or legs. Please keep in mind, this is just the 1st primer coat. Still debating between painting it a creamy white or a dark teal. So, do I paint just the drawer or the sides as well? Thanks.

Went against popular opinion and painted.

You found a wonderful solution for maintaing the beauty of the leather top and incorporating the color you desired. Perfect.
