Anyone growing pomegranate?

I need some cuttings. I had a fantastic Pom for years and wasn't smart enough to take cuttings for myself, even though I gave some away to friends. Now my tree is gone and I find myself in need of a known productive delicious pom tree...I'm willing to pay for cuttings to root on my own, I just don't want to buy off ebay and end up with junk. Anyone willing to sell some, or gift some? LOL

Otherwise - any advice on places to find good varieties that are not $50 for a seedling?

Barb, I left the tags on the tree and now I cannot see the names.:) This is the first year that I have the tree. I had regular pears years ago and did not do well in my garden, We have a u-pick place close by and they have the sand pears that do well here.

Hi Larry! I miss you both also, always remember the good times at the parties. My house has been sad lately, we lost Buffy and Tiny, remember the one that gave you bad looks at the gate? They were both in their 20. Nikki is 22 and still around and looking healthy and Lucy that we don't know her age is still with us.

Larry, we should of learn to do cuttings like Mark when we had the chance, he was the master propagator and he is no longer with us, so sad.

Barb, I would offer you the seedlings but I lost the one that you gave me, with Irma or something.

It would be good if someone in your area are growing pomegranates and can give you a seedling.

I bought a cocktail Asian pear from this nursery, they shipped them well and have coupons.

Thanks Silvia - I'm looking at their website now. Is one of your pear varieties Shenseiki? I have one that is 4 years old now and got a good dozen fruits off it this past year. Really good, strong tree, only spray it once a year with neem oil. Couldn't recommend a better variety. My Keiffers do extremely well in Alabama with no spraying at all and are also very productive.

I miss seeing everyone, too. I am in contract to sell my home and cant wait to get settled either way. In an effort to sell the house we had to take out all of the raised beds in the center of the yard, and now I have a lawn. It's made me think about what I really want out of my garden and evaluate the cost of the produce versus the time and effort involved, etc.

Perhaps this fall we could arrange something at a park that might be central for people to gather. If we all bring a dish and we have a pavilion for cover it would be nice. OOO... I'm gonna start some mulberry cuttings while I'm thinking of it. :-D

Wish you a lot of luck with the sale of the house, I know that you must be very busy fixing the outdoors for non gardening people.

I can relate to the evaluating of the garden and what is important, that is the reason after Irma we won't be replacing a lot of the ornamental trees.

On the other hand there is fruits and vegetables that we could not do without it but some of them don't need a big space either like lettuce and greens. The lettuce that you get in the market is sometimes contaminated with something, like playing russian roulette.:)

It will be very nice to see the gardening friends again, any way that we can...
