Would you match or complement the vanity?

In our new(to us) cabin, the laundry and powder room are combined. I have decided to make it an attractive space(with help from folks here of course) and not divide it or change the structure.

I have gotten the layout of the laundry section done but am stymied about the vanity. I’d like to have the vanity be a bit different than the cabinets in the laundry portion. I am planning on white corian counters in the laundry and the powder.

Here is the layout, the doorway between the powder and laundry will remain as an opening.

This is the new layout of powder and laundry space. I’ve removed the wall to get a good view.

And the view from the hallway.

I‘m thinking of ikea voxtorp for the laundry portion. With white corian countertop.

What would you do with the 30” vanity?

What is your style for the rest of the cabin? What is the floor?

The rest of the house is traditional mixed with modern. Kind of modern lodge? I don’t have any log furniture or bears or deer prints(which seems to be ubiquitous in cabins around here). Pic shows layout of main floor.

Pic showing some of the stuff in great room. Antique Persian rug, green velvet sofa, 2 leather recliners. Wicker chair is what is at kitchen table, but cushions are now black.

The floor in the laundry/powder is currently vinyl. We are planning to change to marmoleum.

When we remodeled our kitchen, we out in white cabinets but the island has espresso color cabinets. Our kitchen designer said out would look fine, and it does, but she strongly suggested our countertop be consistent tie it all in. Maybe that would work for you with both rooms?

You can do a wood vanity, just keep the countertops consistent.

Are you doing a pattern and color in the marmoleum? That would be nice with the neutral laundry. What flooring is in the rest of the house?

Since the Voxtorp is a clean, contemporary look you might want to pull some eclectic style from your living space. Before you look for a specific vanity knowing where you’re leaning is helpful.

Easiest might be continuing the neutral look with an Ikea vanity like this. You can do it with a corian top and vessel sink.

Or these styles would go with log walls.

Or a painted vanity , maybe a green that goes with your sofa?

    Or really eclectic!

Photos of your living, dining, and kitchen would help to see how your finishes look with the wood walls.

The rest of the house is hardwood (oak, medium brown). We don’t want wood in the laundry as that is where the dog water bowl is.

Im just doing a sheet linoleum, one of the speckled swirly ones lol.

What about a wood with a taupe type wash look?

Oh, I love the idea of a green vanity to bring in the sofa color! Then do the neutral linoleum?

Im not at the cabin today, I came home to pick up the sofa to take up tomorrow.

Here’s a pic when we brought the rug up. The furniture was just castoffs to use until we could get our furniture up. Blinds will be Seagrass romans.

Yes. I think it works better than the white washed wood which may be difficult to match with the color of the walls. It also may be a bit too grey to go with the beige Voxtorp.

And I guess if DH absolutely hates the voxtorp I can do green in the laundry room portion as well.
