There are literally 100s of stainless hoods for a lot less money but we also need a lot more info.

I purchased an unfinished wood hood and finished it to match my kitchen. It came with the proper metal liner and options for what vent inserts would work for the particular hood I ordered. My wood hood is very simple, only 30" for my 30" range and has an ordinary 390 cfm vent insert. My total cost was $1000 including install - however as I said, it is a very simple wood hood, much simpler then the one you have pictured - those start over $1000 for the wood shell alone. The place I ordered my hood from has significantly more expensive hoods available and more powerful inserts - but keep in mind that if you go above 400 cfm, you may need to add make up air, and that can add to the cost.

You can do a search online for "unfinished range hoods" or similar.

If your cabinets will be painted, order maple since that is a good paintable wood.

You can also look into having a carpenter make you one, but determine the insert and liner size needed so he can make it to the right size. I am not sure if that would be less expensive.

Check build.com which has an excellent search engine. Choose the type of hood you're interested in and then select Finish options in the left-hand menu bar.
