That's really pretty. They are popular around here, but usually a much paler pink.

Oh. I was thinking I've never seen this plant before. But now that you mention it , the Lowe's around my way every now and then carry a scrambling vine that looks very much similar to this plant but with lighter pink smaller blooms that are also fragrant. This one has bigger darker colored flowers then the vine I see at Lowe's. The blooms on mine are slightly hairy near the opening and also stripped. I can't remember if the vine I've seen at Lowe's also has stripped hairy blooms near the center. I'll have to check it out next time I see one there.

Opps I forgot It was labeled at the garden center as a bush not a vine. I think this may be exactly it below.

It's a bit confusing but there is a slightly similar vine with a slmilar name called Pandorea. Could that be what you saw, writersblock?

Hi, floral. Nope, I looked that one up. Not sure I've ever seen that in S FL. Here's a pic of what the podranea I see usually looks more more like

Paler flowers (often paler than these) and darker green leaves with no yellow at all in them.

That's gorgeous! I see it's cold hardy down to 10F too. Maybe I need one of those....oh, Deborah....STOP! You know you don't have any more room!

Writersblock, is that plant that you see around usually a big vine or more of a shrub/bush ?

I was thinking of planting mine on the opposite side of a pergola to eventually intermingle with my blue sky vine. It looks like a vigorous enough plant to compete. It would be partialy shaded until it reaches the sun up high. But if it's more of a bush/shrub rather than a vine then it would be a terrible spot for it.
