I would paint the entire lower portion that white color.

brings in more of a contrast and just lightens up the space.

Can you do a rug? Do you have to have drapes or blinds?

from the photo angle, your light looks too small.

do you have any artwork? this room has nothing but vibrant art. lose your panels and find something that speaks to you

I can't see the area across from the windows. what's that look like?

here is what I mean about white wainscot on the lower, a rug, and artwork

Start by removing the panels on the back wall. They just reinforce the blahness.

Curtains and a sideboard with art above would spice this room right up.

I don't suppose there's an easy way to lower that chandelier. It's about a foot too high. You might ask an electrician what can be done.

that looks good grover.

I still say doing the lower portion in all white, and more of a blue/green on top would look better.

IMO the chandelier should have been mounted a bit lower

The room could use some art and maybe decorative plates for the wall

A rug could help the room

Beth, I agree with you on doing the bottom all in white. Maybe you can't tell, but I did paint it to match the molding. I meant to mention it and forgot.

much better. love that.

Jackie, I'm going to be stalking your post in hopes of some inspiration.

Beth, I love the picture of the blue DR with the big square twig wall ornament? Do you know where or who sells it?

RJ, looks like it may be metal. and no, sorry, I don't.
