picture dilemma

Recently did a dining/ living room. Cant figure where to put a large mirror and picture. Mirror over buffet table or in back of sofa or large wall. Or picture on top of buffet, or back of sofa or large wall behind small table. Also is it true to have only one mirror per room. Thankyou

Thankyou, what about the rectangular mirror. and what about over the sofa?

Where you have the little curio which should be bigger and wider you can place a mirror there and have the painting above the buffet table or if it’s not pleasing to your eye you can switch it.

Thankyou, any ideas maybe get rid of that curio and put something else. Think it's too small for the wall? Is is not a good idea to put mirrors above buffet table?

If possible, it’s nice to place a mirror across from a window to increase the natural light.

So put the rectangular mirror over the sofa, by the window ?

IMO, the only good place for a mirror is in the bathroom, maybe over an entry table so you can check your teeth before you go out the door. Otherwise, I'd put art everywhere.

I'd put the framed Vettriano over the sideboard, a narrow mirror over the console at the entry, and find a large canvas for over the sofa.

This room could use a little lightening up.

Yes, I would change the curio and add a console. That wall is too big for it! The mirror is your personal preference it can be placed anywhere.

I would move the low curio to the front window in place of the side table and buffet lamp. Move them to the other side of the chair, and get a new lamp at proper height. The art should hang 5" above the buffet. The mirrors should only go where they double something beautiful or interesting. The fancier oval one might be good for your foyer if it the space is large enough for it.

Thankyou, maybe a long thin console since I have buffet table on the other side.

It doesn’t have to be thin in depth but yes

Someone else said to move curio under window isnt that a little strange.

Love the picture it is "The Singing Butler" by Scottish artist Jack Vettriano. We have the same print in the entry of our home. We love it because my husband and I ballroom dance. It would go very nicely in the dining area.

I would not do a mirror in the dining area, no one wants to watch themself chewing when eating a meal.

Thankyou, any ideas for the end table, flower chair , little curio or soda? It just doesn't flow right. Should I move the chair somewhere it's kinda of big. Also what about mirror above the sofa?

What is the size of the overall space?

I would actually move your sofa a little closer to the dining room so you can place the chair under the window.

I just moved the end table to the sofa and moved the small curio. I think the chair is to big, maybe I need 2 small ones, and a long table behind them in that wall ? Going crazy.

Two small accents chairs would be good but it would face the window

I wouldn't put the two small chairs where the big chair is? Guess get rid of the big chair? Thankyou for your help. Night
