I would agree & end it at the bottom of the cabinets or whatever make a full tile. So if you have a half tile under your cabinets, bring the full tile up around the window? Make sense? I would use a Schulter edge to match your tile if there isn't a bullnose or pencil edge for your tile.

Best: Take the cabinets to the ceiling and the tile to the ceiling.

Have you considered bringing the window down to the counter as well? That 6-8" would bring in more sunlight

With the cabinets at the current height, it doesn’t make sense to bring tile backsplash to the ceiling.

Update on above - countertop is in and we decided to have cabinets built up to ceiling. Not in yet, but with that, we will take tile up and around window. Our windows do not have frames, so wondering if we tile inside “frame” with bullnose edge or hubby says he could do Schluter edge. I think I prefer tile all the way inside, but looking for pros/cons. He thinks schutler edge is better.
Also - any ideas for window treatments all the way around...

We are not getting new cabinets, but building up existing so they go to ceiling.

GREAT! Glad you are taking your cabs to the top! Can you do a small casing trim around the window that matches the paint on your cabinets? That would be the easiest, most simple solution. Or you can do a bullnose edge and wrap the tile around the window..... Love the view out your window!
