are we guessing for the dilemma?

vanity color? vanity top? vanity placement? If I had to guess, I say that vanity looks out of place in that spot.

    nice flooring.

Choked on wine.............: ) Maybe she forgot the toilet? Nope... I see it

Center the vanity between wall and tub please? That looks.....not great. Paint it a clean bright white too. The color looks "dead" against nice flooring. It's too warm a gray for the rest.Or it's "Dove White.....and no not good here.

I dont post often post but I have to say these are A+ comments! You guys are needed a few threads away where a “pro interior designer” suggested adding a vinyl decal to a staircase... :)

I'm tempted not to link them because the guesses are more fun, but: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/bathroom-design-dilemma-dsvw-vd~5608168

OP: "Hi, our bathroom tile is clashing with our pottery barn off white vanity and busy marble. We were going with a modern farmhouse Moroccan look but have missed the mark with this one. We need suggestions on bathroom lighting, a mirror and what to do to this vanity to tie the room together. Desperate for some pro advise. Much appreciated too :)"

Somehow the pic and the text were apparently separated at birth.

I think she wants to know why the tub is draining onto the floor.

modern-farmhouse-moroccan look? what in the world? just no. modern farmhouse is bad enough, but you just can't add Moroccan to that mix. Let's just stick w/eclectic.

That Pottery Barn “White” is like Groundhog Day. Too bad no one looks at it in the store before buying.

I see every one has been having some fun haha. Sorry for my post error. I was having issues uploading photos. I can snap a few more tomorrow but as for now I’ve attached all I have. I’m wondering if I should paint the vanity and get a new countertop? My husband snatched up the vanity on craigslist without my approval - bummer . But I hope with some tweaks I can turn this bathroom around. Our house is modern farmhouse.

I'd do these lights or hanging holders for plants or candles in the corner

    one more

see the nice contrast the blue/gray vanity brings in? I also did Stonington Gray on the wall. The vanity color is Hale Navy.

So, since you like the farmhouse, try the shiplap or the wainscot and do both the white and gray/blue on the walls.

see how they did this shiplap? you could do this in the white or the blue.

bring in some wood shelves, a stool, and some plants.

    like this one.

    Moroccan style lighting and mirrors

Beth H thank you for outdoing yourself and sending me some great suggestions. I think I’m sold on painting my vanity the dark grey and changing our the countertop. I think that will be the quickest fix. Love the shiplap and will consider that as an option too.

Paint the vanity blue and the counter top may be ok.

dominque, look at BM Hale Navy (pictured on that vanity in my last comment)

    Lead Gray,

    or

these blues all have gray tones and will work w/your floor.

For gray, you want a neutral gray or one that leans a little blue. It will work w/the marble and your floor

This is SW Crushed Ice on the wall with a neutral white below

You have to keep the vanity away from the wall on the left or you will NEVER BE ABLE TO PAINT THAT WALL. Paint the vanity either white or blue to match the floor.

There are less extreme solutions you might consider first (replacing vanity tops are expensive) and easily accomplished. Contrast and texture will transform the look while not breaking the bank. If you have not purchased the plumbing fixtures, look for gold or black tones and coordinate or play off the look with your towel bars, drawer pulls and accessories. A bold and exotically carved wood framed mirror would look terrific above the vanity, and if you can imagine a tent-like shower curtain sweeping around the tub from floor to ceiling, your Moroccan drama has happened. The color of the woodwork on the vanity is fine and matches your lovely tile floor, but a deeper, richer wall color behind it would make it all the better, but aim for subtle color because deep or bold blue will blah out the floor, while white would make it appear dull. In the far right corner, a huge basket will soften and warm up the space, while keeping in your theme.
