I pieced together the drawings, and I'm going to include some either/or scenarios. This plan will depend on whether you can put the kitchen in the front of the house, on window configuration in the front of the house, and whether you want a m/l separate, formal DR.

With all the existing bedrooms on the left side of the house, I'd try to relocate the laundry to that side, to keep from carrying it through the living space to the current laundry room, and vice-versa. The back part of the current laundry space could then be used for a stacking W/D exclusively for the new master suite. I didn't take time to pin down the master suite, since I am concentrating on the kitchen.

I added a door from the garage, into the new mudroom; I'm assuming no one is going to want to come in the lower garage entry and go around the corner to the mudroom, but if you, knowing your family, think the extra door is not necessary, it can be omitted. Or, if you'd prefer that the garage entry be hidden from view from the LR and DR, the existing door can be closed and the pantry reworked. There is an optional dividing wall between the DR and mudroom, and another between the mudroom and master suite laundry.

There's a shallow pantry beside the fridge, with extra pantry storage in the alcove behind it. I included closets open to the entry, to block the view of the kitchen, but that wall could be more open. Or, instead of closets, on the kitchen side you could have cabinets with breakfast items, a beverage fridge, wine fridge, a dish hutch, or wall ovens, depending on your lifestyle and cooking styles. I drew a compact prep/cooking area with a separate clean-up space, and a second prep space between the clean-up sink and cooktop/range. Dishes could also be kept in drawers to the left of the clean-up sink, to make them more convenient to the fridge and cooktop--but then when a helper is asked to set the table, he might want to cut through the work zones.

The island has seating on two sides, a drawer microwave across from the fridge, and a trash pull-out on the other end, which can be shared by all work zones.

Another location for wall ovens, closer to the cooktop, would be on the bottom right side of the plan, with an appliance garage in the corner:

I hope the plans aren't too confusing, since I was trying to cover several options. This layout cuts into some of the living room, and with the family room being taken for a master suite, might not be acceptable to everyone.

You might also consider switching the LR and kitchen in the above plans, but I don't have time to draw those options right now.
