Beautiful selection of rugs but they are narrower than 3' - more like 2.5. That won't work.

What about Flor carpet tiles? I thinnk they're about 18 inches each. Plus they're washable.

ETA a different counter would go far, here....maybe a solid charcoal color?

Regarding changing the counter -- the piggy bank is empty :-) In the last 4 months I have had to replace hardwood flooring, carpeting, doors, trim, etc throughout the house. The kitchen is not in the budget for a very long time.

IMO rugs in kitchens get gross and are a tripping hazard.

I would do an interesting color...do you have a mixer or a blind or curtains or some other color in there?
