I was looking at reviews of HD Lifeproof LVF (7-8 mm thickness) for basement. Great on line reviews. I am framing in a room in an unfinished 60's ranch basement. Doesn't get wet, but very high humidity in summer which I think I have controlled now with a good dehumidifier (only have lived there 1.5 yrs). (I will not tile). Room is really just to work out in. Contractor states << Not a good product to go over concrete- we would need to install a sub floor over concrete floor to use this product. It is very thin-would reflect any and all defects in the basement floor. A 5MM laminate floor with vapor barrier would be a better choice- <<. From doing my research, I do not see this, though I understand if floor is not level, vinyl install is an issue (visually it looks level but i haven't really checked). Comments?
