Usually runners are not a go for me. Tables generally look better without them, but we

await pics.

Runner

Full runner

What are the pictures supposed to be showing. First you do not leave placemats on the table when you are not dining. Why do you think you need a runner?

I think your runner and table linens look great. The pic is my kitchen table and I leave the runner and placemats on all the time. Throw them in the washer a few times a week, then back on the table. I think it is a very welcoming sight, rather than just a bare table.

Is this everyday dining or formal dining? It looks like a child’s chair so I would guess everyday. I like your chairs and the pattern behind table (drapery?). They feel more sophisticated to me than the placemats and runner. Following to see suggestions....

jalarse with that view you can get away with just about anything in that space.

archanacg - sorry, but that does not look good. Your dining room looks formal, and the runner has a bit of whimsy to it - not working at all.

The runner just doesn't go. Looks very summery along with the placements.

I would go for placemats in a taupe color (when using them for dining).
