They are both considered solid surfaces and both are quite durable. Personally I like the more consistent look of quarts vs natural granite.

Dy - I think she means quartzite the natural stone not quartz that comes in more solid colors.
Linda - my understanding is that granite and quartzite are pretty comparable when it comes to durability. I believe both will need to be sealed to avoid staining, but quartzite is definitely more durable than marble.

Thank you for your responses. Yes, I am talking about the natural stone quartzite. The white is pure white with some sparkle to it and I am really concerned about staining.
