I haven't seen any flocks of birds yet, but I've seen a few birds that come through every year. I'm not a bird-watcher, so I don't really know what they were. I've heard some strange bird calls, and the red-shouldered hawk is hanging around more, no doubt waiting for baby birds he can snatch from their nests.

I have noticed a few robins in my yard over the past couple of days. I'm not sure that they actually migrate from here but either way, they seem to be more present.

They have been in my area for a little over a week now, busy eating the berries from the Sabal Palms and the Brazilian Peppers.

eyeballing the bird feeders. No harm, he just flew off.

The robins seem to have left the area, not one around today.

I planted a bunch of hummingbird attracting plants yesterday so I'm

hoping my usual visitors find my place again. I've seen several single

butterflies skimming around since the warm weather showed up again.

I think Spring is here.

My red shouldered hawk swoops into my courtyard occasionally going after the birds that come there in the early morning looking for worms or lizards. He ran into the banana the other day and got tangled in the dead leaves. He missed the bird, thank heaven, but he's gotten a couple of squirrels.

We have Robins up here around late April, early May. I hvaen't seen my redbird pair that hangs out here every year. Occasionally, I will even see a bluebird or two. I'd really like to feed the birds, but with the hawk around, I dare not.

up in northern California, the past week or so there have been a notable increase in robins hanging out in our area and in my backyard. There definitely is a change

I had seen an increase in robins over a week ago but a lot less recently. Are they just migrating further north or is it related to weather or food availability? (Unfortunately they don’t seem to go for my dried mealworms or suet feeders)
