Cheer powder doesn't cause excess suds in my front load LG. Haven't tried the Tide Pur. I have liquid and powdered Cheer I use on dark clothing.

I will say I use cheer powder because it’s one of the few without OB. Wish tide pur worked. Just so sudsy. Waiting for a he turbo version to come out. Cheer liquid and woolite darks do contain OB.

Cheer powder for sure. With its lower sudsing formula and 3 enzymes it's a pretty good product....did I mention it has no OB's, and it has its special little ingredient to neutralize chlorine in tap water that can cause fading. Ya I'm a fan of Cheer (only the powder has no OB''s and the ingredient to neutralize chlorine)

Tide Pur..way way to sudsy for me.

I use Cheer liquid, but I'm moving to Woolite Dark because we really want to keep dark blues and blacks as saturated in color as possible. WD states that it reduces "frays" and "pills" on clothing washed in it.

But Woolite Dark is far more expensive than Cheer. We use good old Cheer on regular jeans and dark clothes that are less likely fade.

What are the advantages to Woolite Dark formula?

Another Woolite for darks user here. I buy the big jugs at Costco and wash all my jeans, navy and black carefully to prolong their life. If I have something very, very dirty, like black jeans designated for gardening jeans, I might wash those in Tide but only once they have reach the point I wouldn't leave home in them anyway ;0)

Last I checked Woolite dark had OB''s and only one enzyme..Cellulose.

Another woolite dark user here. It is one of several detergents recommended for army gear as it is ob free.

I found this article about ob's that I thought you some might find interesting washing combat uniform. It has two interesting pictures and would make me think twice about using Woolite Dark for my loved ones combat uniforms. Of course I can not verify the information in the article.
