I am looking for a recommendation for a design or renovation book to help us with a major renovation. We are looking to completely renovate a big old house originally built about 80 years ago in a hot humid environment. It has been added onto throughout the years, but unfortunately was badly neglected (the neighborhood kids call it the "bat house"!). We basically have a skeleton to work with at this point, and no, we don't want to tear it down and start from scratch. We want to keep the renovation simple, implementing sustainable methods and materials where possible. We do have an engineer and an architect but will be doing a lot of the work ourselves (my husband is a craftsman, so will do interior woodwork himself). Love to hear of any good books that might make this project a bit less overwhelming and help us create a functional, comfortable home. TIA!
