African Violets

Splitting plant while in bloom.....?

So I have a mini AV (not a trailer .... or at least shows no signs of being one) with two crowns and really needs split. However, it is also showing the beginnings of flower stalk/bud development. Will dividing now cause the nubial flower stalks to abort?

Not necessarily.

Be very careful and try to leave some roots on the plantlet that is budding ...
