Bathroom Placement help!

I am trying to figure out 2 things.

  1. Should I place the toilet paper roll under the window (where spackle is) or to the left of the toilet?

  2. In the space between the toilet and the iron shelving, I am thinking about putting hooks for towels. Probably 3 of them. Should I put something underneath them like a basket, hamper, stool, bench or something?

That being said, what should I put above iron shelving and above toilet? I just want it to flow.

I want to do a modern farmhouse type of look.

I am also going to put barnwood on the iron shelves for knock knacks, etc.

Sit on the toilet and see where the toilet paper feels more comfortable to reach for. The side wall seems like the best place but if it gets wet from the shower maybe not.

Where is the wall blocked for the tp holder? If you use a double mounted traditional holder, the side in drywall will pull out. (Ask me how I know. ) I like it further back, under the window if possible.

Hooks above where the iron shelves are. Less things on the floor in the bathroom will make it feel more spacious. Do you have enough storage in the sink area?

I agree about the ladder. I would much rather have a larger vanity with counter space and covered storage than the ladder.

I would love a new vanity too lol but it is not in my budget. I just repainted it white. there is storage to the right of it. I put the ladder there to take up the awkward space. I am going to nail a couple of wired baskets to it for rolled up washcloths etc...

The iron shelving I had in my basement so I figured maybe it would hide the toilet a little. (see picture of before).

Should I put a picture above the shelving and/or toilet? With the 3 hooks in between I am stuck. I just want it to flow.

are you left handed or right handed? let that guide you. (left would be awkward because you'd have to reach behind you)

you could always get a TP- holder stand.

PS,,did you know you can paint your floor tiles?

Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Hobby Lobby, all the way up to a Pottery Barn. I’m imagining black iron with a square cap tip. Get one more than you have family members using the bathroom. Consider if you want hooks mounted on a board or hung individualply. If they are on a board, placement in studs will be easier.

I looked at alot of places today and didn't see much that is why I asked. I will check out Hobby Lobby tomorrow. I like the idea of black hooks but does it matter if they don't match the nickel colored hooks on the other side of the room? Thank you so much for all of your suggestions so far! I appreciate it!

That strip of hooks was in the bathroom before so I reused it. I thought it was too small next to the toilet so I put it on that wall by the vanity instead.

Slowly making progress...still haven't put the toilet paper holder back up yet though lol.

that looks nice. get a few of the nickel hooks and off-set them next to that console.

do you have a picture or something framed to hang above the console? example,,,this black/white framed print

    don't hang it to high.

something over the toilet as well. maybe a few wood shelves with a few plants?

you could also do something like this

Thanks Beth. on my Hobby Lobby travels I am going to looks for a pictures as well as hooks :) I love the look of shelves over the toilet but wasn't sure because the hooks would be next to them and I wasn't sure if it would be too cluttered. The wood on the iron shelving was actually going to be the shelves lol but I changed my mind. Do you think shelves would look too cluttered?

I agree that something needs to be over the toilet though....ugh.

I prefer my damp towels to hang (even before I throw them in the hamper).
