I love wallpaper, but I wouldn’t suggest it for this space. There are dropboxes and soffits all over the ceiling and some interfere with the vertical walls. I had the same issue in my lower level, so I painted everything one color…everything. I used a brown, B.M. Racoon Hollow to deal with other issues.

Your space is somewhat similar, except you have the bar area. Leaving it black, paint the ceiling and boxes black and walls something like Gray Owl.

Are you up for some fun? Consider color blocking in black, gray and one or two other fun colors you love - lime, lemon, red; whatever suits your taste. Maybe you have a favorite sports team whose colors you'd like to use.
