The factory pulls on our F&P are rather thin—maybe about the size of the pulls your designer chose. They feel good and solid to me, even pulling against the tight seal.

I have a long pull similar to that on my fridge though it's wider throughout the handle area, ~2". My only issue is the dang screws keep backing out on the handle and I have to pull the panel to re-tighten it. I finally put a little blue Loctite on it last time. You are correct about the tight seal, if I close my SZ and try and open it again right away it almost seems like I'm going to pull the panel off the door. Worse for the freezer.

Personally, I would want something a little more substantial, I could see my kids yanking that right off the door. Not really but it seems a bit dainty for a big fridge.

I've seen built-in refrigerators with those type of pulls. It's done all the time.

Awesome feedback. anyone else? Wonder if anyone has pulls in similar size to the Baldwin, besides the FP poster I’ve seen the FP ones and they have a triangular shape that I think helps with leverage. The Baldwin is thin and long. I’m skeptical about it.

Mine are just over 0.5 inch in width on a 36 inch Sub Zero. They have squared off edges so that makes them easy to grip. We've had them for a couple of months and so far no issues, even with our kids pulling them.

Nope, never HATED an appliance pull.

I wish fridges opened automatic, like the hatchbacks on the cars where you just use you foot to open it. That way you can open or close it when your hands are full.

Mine are 3/4" x 1/2" in diameter with the back part being slightly rounded where your palm will come into contact with the pull. These were custom pulls on 36" subzero fridge column and 24" freezer column. No issues opening the doors and the SZ have a very tight seal. Pulls are 16" long on doors and 10" long on lower fridge drawers.

I had this pull on the paneled sz in our last house. It felt too skinny In our hands. Similar to yours I think. New house, we have a Schaub country collection 12” pull that I really love. Much more substantial and heavy.

I was in a showroom recently and they had a 30" Miele bottom freezer unit with slender squared pulls in satin brass (beautiful!). I had no problem opening the door; however I didn't like how it felt in my hand. That would be something to consider. I'd much prefer a tubular pull vs. squared.

My passageway in front of the fridge is so tight that a smaller pull would actually be meaningful, so consideration of what is around it might be worthwhile. Otherwise you want something you can comfortably slide a hand underneath.
