Master Bedroom Layout

I am moving into this house and this is the master bedroom. I love the windows and fireplace but bed hiding a door entry into an office is not ideal. I do want a tv in here but not necessarily over the fireplace. Please help with layout ideas! All ideas appreciated!!

Honestly anywhere you place the furniture it's either hiding a window or a door. You did a really good job in placing the furniture the best way you can. I do agree that master bedroom was not designed properly and it's hard to make furniture layouts work in this room because of all the openings. I assume you want to use the furniture you have but another solution would be to buying smaller furniture to fit. I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that so I came up with a sketch below. I'm not sure on actual size of anything since I am not in your space but I think this layout should work based on your pictures. The only opening that would be covered in this layout would be your window partially. I hope this helps!

Could you move your bed to the double window and put your mirrored dresser between the bed and office door? Then put your high dresser at the foot of your bed with the TV on it. Drapes would make the room cozy, along with some throw rugs. You may even be able to have room close to the fireplace for a comfy chair in the corner where you have the high dresser now

Can either the mirrored door (or the office door) be (re-)moved?

This furniture is actually not mine. I'm starting from scratch, so furniture suggestions would be welcome. Thanks for the advice! More appreciated!!

strange bedroom design.....there is not a good place for a bed! I would put the bed centered in front of the double window

I mean the layout works out perfectly, if you move the bed infront of the double windows you really want to be having to stare at the tv sideways unless you move the tv and put in the dressor area and move the dressor around but then you are going to be hitting sunlight every morning or so.

Bed in front of double window. TV opposite on credenza or appropriately sized chest. Get full sized chests to use as end tables. No other furniture in room. Use closets for clothes. Shelving, drawers, etc. The prior owners had too much large furniture in the room. Simplify it and you can have a wonderfully restful place.

This is where you want to throttle the builder--ridiculous design. Sorry, I can't think of a thing.

Haha. The house was built in 1920 so maybe needs were totally different. Not sure. Great ideas, y'all! Keep them coming!

Interesting. I thought it was our own developer nonsense that you see so often--weirdly located fireplaces, niches, and what have you. Good luck figuring out a solution. At least the room has lovely features.

You need some good lighting in this room. Get rid of overhead fan and get a light or if you need the fan, change it out for one the color of the ceiling. Change sconces over fireplace. Add lamps on bedside tables or wall mounted bedside lights.
