The shutters are only on the windows that logically would have shutters correct? The triple windows would not have them. The real estate listing details a build in 1980, no addition added

I would put it in the Meh to Slightly Ugh zone. Poorly executed traditional home, but not quite in the McMansion zone. Looks like the New American style, which frequently is quite McMansion-y.

Not too bad, some of the offenders can be somewhat remedied...but at what cost? IMO the biggest offenders are the windows and dormers on the garage. They are too big (wide) when compared to the "house" side and the count is wrong (two instead of three). This makes the garage appear to be an afterthought rather than an intentionally designed wing of the structure. Keep in mind, most people won't notice (and don't care).

McMansion is not a style of house. A McMansion is a large "mass produced" tract home. This house could be a McMansion if the same or similar houseplan was built by its builder nearby.

I would not call it a traditional style house because the house style seems to be is a mix of three styles: colonial, ranch and cape.

No other home like it on the street. What I do like about the street is the lots are larger, so houses are not on top of each other. In addition there are a wide range of home styles. Def not cookie cutter subdiv!

Definitely not a "McMansion" as it is on a lovely large lot and there are not, as you said, other homes around that are cookie cutter copies.

First impression: This house neither delights me or repells me. If I pulled up to this one, I would not tell the realtor, "keep driving." I would definitely check it out--the property and the interior could override the fact that it's not an A+ facade.. Recently, I saw a post that said, "Should I paint the brick?" and when I clicked on the house, it made me think, "Paint the brick! Dear me--sell that house and move!" This house does not give me a bad vibe at all.

I agree with Sina - flawed, but not a McMansion. I'd check out the build quality and if it's okay, I wouldn't let the flaws override what might be a good buy.

Not a McMansion by a long shot. Maybe not a great looking place, but not the plastic form-over-function of a McMansion.

^^^^ it looks so much better in person, we did a drive by. The picture from the tax website is so distorted. Proportionately it is very balanced, not stretched out or garage oversized like in the picture

I would not use mcmansion to descibe anything about this house. Yes it has a few weird things going on but all fixable easily except for the arched window which I find the most odd. I think if the interior is well planned and suits your daughter it would be worth having a second look.
