Miele oven difficulty

We just had our Miele steam oven installed over the Miele 30 inch oven. The trim kit, which is supposed to compensate for the 24" size is terrible. The fit is poor and if you touch it, it moves. In fact, the installer yelled when my husband touched the edge and it moved! He said " Oh no, you touched it!" Bad sign! Has anyone had this problem and had it fixed. The appliance company is calling in Miele repair. Unfortunately, the installers also niched our new cabinets while putting in the ovens. Ugh!

I haven't installed a Miele Trim kit but if the trim moved by merely touching it.... It can't be installed correctly. Most trim kits are attached to the product or attached to the cabinet with screws/fasteners. This is needed so you can clean around the appliance.

If you know the SKU of the kit see if you can go online and get the installation instructions or look at the oven installation instructions as they might have how to install the kit there.

I don't have a trim kit either for my Miele CSO, but I have been in the Miele showroom in LA a few times for product and cooking demonstrations. I did not notice any issues with the trim in their installations and those units get used and cleaned daily.

Who installed your CSO? My Miele CSO, coffee machine and DW were installed by actual Miele service reps and not by the appliance reseller.

My Miele CSO is under a counter, so no trim as well. Like chispa, I have seen the Mieles installed at their showroom and other people's houses, the trim seems very solidly installed. I don't know who installed my CSO exactly though. All the details were handled by my ID while I was away- it seems hard to believe anybody in his right mind would think touching the trim was verboten. I am sure the fix will be simple, but I would be concerned about other installation issues since the CSO is not a standard oven, so people are less familiar with how it should be set up.

I appreciate your comments. We ordered all of our appliances from one store and have had several issues. I believe part of it may be due to the original person we worked with being out on maternity leave and she was the go to person for these types of appliances. Our present contact person does not seem very helpful and the installers do not seem to have a lot to say when they encounter problems. I am hoping that a visit from Miele will make the difference. We also have a sub zero set of freezer drawers that live in our island. When they are pushed to close, they get close to closing and then slip back open again. This has resulted on a number of occasions, coming back into the kitchen and discovering the freezer drawers open. Another ugh. Sub zero is coming to figure this out.

Hmmm, our appliance supplier installed all of our appliances (which we paid them to do). This is the first time that I have heard that the manufacturer should be putting in the appliances. Yikes!
