Remove existing landscaping, add exterior lighting & perhaps widen / reposition walkway.

Consider flaring a new front walk out and away from the house to create a planting bed between it and the garage corner. But be careful because you will likely get into the root zone of the large tree. I'd suggest having an arborist check out the tree to make sure it is healthy and sound. If you are not in love with the big tree you could remove it and that would open the possibilities for the rest of the front yard. Definitely replace the shrubs up against the house with new plantings, mixing a new shrub with some perennials or grasses. Consider taking your photos to a quality garden center or nursery that can make some plant suggestions for you.
