I have a west facing front door that takes a beating in the summer. I am getting ready to paint the door bright red and will replace my hardware. I currently have shiny brass that is flaking and turned a lot of different colors due to the heat, although it is 12 years old, so maybe it is just time to replace it. My internal hardware is matt black, but I don't feel the need to match it necessarily.
