In my head, I think I can decorate, but this bedroom has brought me down to earth.
I would like to have a romantic, relaxing cozy hotel retreat at home. Right now it’s dark and blah and I stopped decorating because I didn’t want to invest more money and still not get the look I want. Right now it seems like I have to start all over and I’m willing to but want it to be right this time.
The mistakes I see: curtains are dark and not long enough. The letters over bed are not romantic or mature (I’m in my 30s). I worked really hard on the stripped wall but it’s pretty dark and doesn’t scream light/airy/breezy/sophisticated or romantic. I want to keep the artwork because I spent a lot of money but fear the colors in it do not promote relaxation. To add to it I have a big black bed frame and it just feels like it weights everything down, but I want to keep it.

Help: Any ideas, suggestions ? What color or wallpaper should I look at? Existing Art work can I work with it? How do I have a black bedroom frame and lighten up the room?
