jorah and his dad

i got a message on saturday from jorah's former "dad". he was going to be in the city visiting friends and wanted to know if i might be able to bring jorah to visit. we met at the petco store and it was a sweet reunion! one of the employees was so nice and set out a couple of folding chairs in front of the big window for us. they had not seen each other since last july. he and his wife divorced and she moved back to russia to go to medical school. chris didn't think it would be fair for jorah to have to spend all day in an apartment so they reluctantly agreed to put him in a dane rescue.

jorah was SO excited to see him and chris' fears of not being remembered melted away as soon as they laid eyes on each other. jorah literally jumped for joy!

chris was overjoyed to see how well jorah is doing. he told me several times how glad he was that i couldn't resist this big goofy dog. i invited him out to the farm and he came out sunday to see where jorah lives with his harem before he headed home. he said he could not think of a better place for him and was so thrilled jorah has so much room to run and play. he will be back later this spring and will bring his mom with him for a visit. they live in chicago, it's about a 4 hour drive.

a couple of people have been critical of my choice to have jorah see chris thinking it would cause him confusion. as soon as chris left to go home, jorah got a cookie and went to bed for a nap. he didn't whine or stare out the window, everything just went right back to normal which was exactly what i expected would happen. chris told me he was at peace knowing that jorah has a wonderful life with me and he even got a little teary when we were saying our goodbyes. he's a very sweet guy and i was happy to set his mind at ease. i can't wait for it to warm up enough so that we can be outside when he comes again!
