10323 self propel

Can anyone help me figure out what possibly needs replacing for my 2004 Lawn Boy 10323. At the end of last mowing season out of nowhere my self propel stopped propelling. I did go thru the hassle of changing the belt, but that wasn't it. I can tell you when I lift the back of the mower up & pull the handle the wheels spin, but soon as I lower it to the ground.. no go. I know it could be the gears in the tranny , but which ones, there's like three or four to choose from, or parts on the axle by the wheels , but again, which parts, this is where I can use some intel & p/n's if possible, any info would be greatly appreciated especially with spring around the corner, thanks .
