Seating Suggestions?

We just got our (long awaited) ikea wall unit because we needed something fairly long for our TV size and the long wall. My problem now is i'm thinking my room looks crowded with the furniture. Does anyone have any seating suggestions that aren't so "bulky"? Beanbags, settee, poufs, bench? The black leather couch and coffee table I wont miss if we are better off without them. The linen sofa and leather armchair i would prefer to stay. Losing the black leather couch elminates seating but I want to make up for it with something less bulky (we get alot of guests at one time). Any suggestions and ideas with arrangement ideas and or extra seating.

@ matching chairs where the cream sofa is and that sofe along the wall where the dark bulky sofa ias and forget the other chair. While you are at it get rid of the giant clock and get a piece of art. Some roman shades on the windows or at least matching drapes all along that wall and remove that junk catching table from behind the sofa.

I actually have another set of the Navy drapes, should i swap out the grey so they're all Navy? I found a set of Navy barrel chairs I really liked and that way I could move the leather chair to the office. The white table behind the sofa actually isn't mine so it's not staying anyway. Would a larger ottoman work for where the coffwe table is?

Replace the black sofa with two lounge chairs instead. What's going on with your drapery panels?

I have removed the too short table behind your sofa., added a larger TV or the room and suggest you relocate the floor lamps to a place where they might do some good. Next to a chair where someone might read.

You are suffering from marshmallow upholstery—too big, too overstuffed, and thus dominating the room.

I suggest you find another home for the black sofa. When the windows are exposed and not blocked, you’ll see the room feels bigger.

    nice tv cabinet.

I'm all for getting rid of the black sofa guys. The drapes we just hung. With a wall full of four windows i have 8 panels up there (two for each window) they're scattered right now and we have ugly brown roller shades (which are getting replaced)

Shall we look into armchairs or the ones without arms? I want something comfortable and inviting.

Would two of these work? They're the same color as the linen couch.

You want chairs with arms. Armless chairs (called “slipper chairs”) are pretty for occasional use, but not as comfortable. When sitting for any length of time, people want to rest their arms and even shift their bodies to lean up against one side or another. As for the ones you’ve proposed, I suppose it’s a matter of taste. There’s certainly nothing wrong with them, but I think you need to stop and think out the whole room first (choose drapery panels, for instance).

Can you get a match for your linen sofa? I'd put 2 sofas opposite each other, and a chair, or 2 smaller chairs, facing the TV. We have that arrangement. It seats a lot of people at a get-together, and is good for conversation.

The drapery panels we have are navy (i buy panels all the time so i have tons of colors and textures) do i buy solid colored ones? Match the drapes to the chairs?

What style and color chair would you recommend?

Any of these? Higher back, low arm, barrel?
