Fred, that is the second scape of the H.yungacencexH.papilio cross. It is an outstanding beauty indeed and a great performer. And the one looking at her/him? is my beloved Rosario:-)

Your Coral Beach looks much better than last year! I guess mine was part of the overwintering in the garden experiment I started last fall. I don't know if any bulb survived :-( The problem wasn't frost but the cover kept also mice warm and dry! I don't know if Hippeastrum bulbs are toxic for mice too but I hope they are!!!

Such beautiful blooms :-)))) I'm in love with your Debutantin!!! Her blooms are so exotic and wild looking. I wish I could say that Napoli was a small blooming plant but she's actually huge. The blooms are are 18cm (7 1/2") wide and the plant is 80cm (31")tall, much bigger than last year's growth.

Congratulations on your Baby Face and Napoli is very pretty also!

Here is my Shoka no Kagayaki that I purchased in 2013!! Nearly 6 years for me to bring this small bulb to bloom but better late than never I guess. If there were 4 flowers it would be much nicer but I don't think I've ever seen any pictures of Shoka no Kagayaki with more than 2 flowers.

This is a good sized flower at a full 6" across.

She's beautiful :-))))) I have one too but she's teeny tiny and a few years away from blooming, I just hope mine is as pretty as yours.

First flowers on my blossfeldiae hybrid. The female parent is a cultivar of the Colibri series. The wild species blossfeldiae is very dominant in this cross. Six flowers per scape (this is inherited from blossfeldiae too). I have pollinated two flowers with Hippeastrelia Durga Pradhan pollen.

Here is a seedling of Exotica x Mocca that I made in 2012!! It took seven years to bloom for me! I had given lots of these seeds away and several bloomed in 3 or 4 years for others but it took me seven!! Only two flowers but I know this can give me 4 flowers if I can just make her happy this summer. Not a prize winner for sure but her color is really vibrant as in the pictures with nice netting, and I'm happy!

She's 6 & 1/2 inches at her widest.

Donna, I like your Exotica x Mocca! It is amazing that is such a bright orange! I remember seeing some pictures here from this cross (seeds you shared) and they were much paler.

I did the reverse cross last year (with pollen Jody sent me!) and will be happy if I get something like you :-)))

This is a H. cardenasii ( neopardinum) hybrid. Looks a lot like pictures of the specie on line. Thought to put pollen on exotic star and the other cardenasii hybrids as well selfing What do you think? And yes, Donna, this was from Telos lol. Also first flowering and only 2 flowers.

H. Yungacense. This is the second flowering. I selfed the first flowers and seed pods are developing.

H. Cardenasii x psitticinum and one of them that I will try some cardenasii pollen on. This bulb just keeps on flowering.

Jody, I don't recall having bought one labeled cardenssaii but I do have one just labeled neopardinum hybrid that has a very long neck and is large enough to bloom if it had a mind to!! Yours is very beautiful and you have to click on the picture to enlarge it to see the beauty.

Yes Frank, it is really gorgeous! It seems to shine from inside :-)

This is the first re blooming amaryllis for me. Is it red lion? All my other bulbs are treated the same but only this one re-bloomed. This is the third year I have had them. What is the secret to get them re-bloom? They spend summer outside then move to basement around end of oct, move to living room around end of Feb. all the others only grow leaves. No flowers.

This if from the selfing of junihitoe/red flash and is the first Alba type. All the others were vibrantly colored. It is a more compact flower with only 2 flowers, but since this is its maiden flowering that might change. I really like this one. The shape is different than anything else I have and it holds this shape. I also like the way the flower tips twirl and have a pink blush.

Well Jody, that is an interesting result from a self of Junhitoe for sure!!! Striped Amedeus is nice, I never got any of those, but I've got an Aphrodite that gave me 3 flowers but they didn't all open at once. Two of the bulbs you gave me that bloomed a few months ago are going to bloom again!! You've got that magic touch!!

Luca, I have some papilio from the Doran collection. Wish they would flower more often. At least their progeny flower each year :) Sugar Candy is lovely.
