i go by the size of the root mass .... which means you have to know what the seller would send .. if you cant visit in person ...

this was a big deal back when i started.. TC was not perfected .. and not trusted... so there was some value in knowing what you got ... but then.. back then.. you might have had to wait 10 years.. for some breeders plant to mature to the point they would cut it.. and the newest and best would easily sell anywhere from 250 to 500 dollars a division ...

boy that makes me sound old.. lol.. but it was in the mid 90s ....

I'm still a little intrigued by OS. I have a couple others.

the bottom line.. is to do whatever makes you happy ..

Popmama It is Originator's Stock. So you are guaranteed (we hope) that it came from a division of the original plant that the originator registered. Could be many generations.

It was not from the process of (Tissue Culture) taking cells or tissue of the original plant and growing 100s or 1,000s in test tubes. Then grow a year or two and hopefully the grower throws away the mistakes so you don't end up buying one. I'm sure most growers are very careful to cull.
