You have a beautiful entry, not sure if the chandelier goes with the decor.

The gold fixture is very traditional for the space. The style is so different that I don’t think it would be an “accent” but a feature in the space.

It has a heavy 24ct gold plating on it. Along wth it I have two matching wall sconses plus a 12" glass sphere with the same gold plated fittings.

Darn! All of you are right, what was I thinking. These will go to ebay or an auction. This is what they looked like in our previous home, a far cry from what we built now.

The gold sphere would possibly work as an accent in a contemporary space as the shape is more versatile vs the light covers in the other fixture.

NewEnglandgal: This time we had the luxury of designing from scratch; thousands of hours went into its design and over two years into it's build and we are not done yet. These days we are out looking for new pieces of accent furniture, living room coffee table and end tables plus other accent furniture, everything has to be a little different from the norm. We think we found what we were looking for only yesterday; 'a very productive day' per my DW. I'll post pictures when/after we get them; we also accidently found a stunning black accent cabinet for our foyer which I'm rendering in my computer to review before we physically purchase the item; the cabinet will complement our black entry door and look great on our white floors; with this cabinet we may discard the idea of a couple of accent chairs and a coffee table in the foyer.

Sharon NeillCuda: Thanks. We may consider putting the sphere on the top of the stairs leading into the media room which will have a one piece pivoting glass door.

Snaggy: I keep putting photos on this forum of areas that are done and complete but we have more work to do before a complete reveal; a home of this scale and size takes time to complete to perfection, especially with me often working away from home.

skivista: Thanks. I will share the link with my DW however the space demands something 48" wide, about the same diameter as my original rendering.

Pinebaron: Yes, 45" - 48" would fit the "algorithm" for your foyer. Couldn't see anything bigger in that style via a quick search. Good luck ... your house is fantastic. As software analysts / coders your attention to detail is fantastic!

HI! I would love to help out here. Unfortunately I don't think that chandelier is modern enough for your entry. Below are some of the entry ways that we have worked on. I think something closer to this would be a better fit.

Shakuf: Thanks. You may well be correct. The chandelier needs to complement the grand entrance and look good from the other direction too.

Recent photo looking towards the entrance followed by a rendering from further back; once fireplace and bar wall tiles are done, it will look exactly like that.

I'm sure we will find something we like sooner or later.

Try a round canopy about 36''. That would be sure to have the canopy looking great from all sides. You want to also make sure that the lowest pendants look nice through the window and stop at just about the top of your door. You might have good luck selling your lighting at high end consignment shops. There is one in the Chicago area called TheRealReal. If they are interested in what you want to sell, you can do business with them via mail. They send pre-paid postage etc.

Cheryl Hannebauer: We used commercial grade 24x24 polished tiles for slip resistance in the foyer and also have the same polished but 12x24 on master shower walls however the satin version on master bath floor and 24x24 satin version on our kitchen floor. Floor tiles are all heated.

Shakuff: You are right about the top of the door; door is 98" tall and 123" wide; there is 46" of height to play above top of the door. I still like the idea of the dish like pendant chandelier as in my rendering however I know my DW will have the last word on it. :)

The transom window is high and offers limited visibility from outside unless the lighting is tall, since we have a large porte-cochère outside the entry.
