Design Dilemma Entry

entry way and mudroom mats

I'm trying to find mudroom and entryway mats that aren't ugly, but won't slide around. I've looked at waterdog and Hudson exchange. They are just so industrial looking! The mats I have are nice looking but slide all over and are curling at the edges. I tried taping them down but that ruined the hardwood underneath. The non skid pads you can add later just collect dirt.

I agree with you about the sort of industrial looking. I had a waterhog mat, but then wanted a larger one... and found them at Costco for about 1/4 the price. It works so well when wet dogs come barrelling through the door, and the wood floors are undamaged.... so I stopped worrying about the look of it.

But I'll follow your thread, and see if anyone has any other great ideas!

An idea I read about to stop mats from sliding around was to buy inexpensive stick down tiles from the Dollar Store. Cut the corner "V" and stick it to the corner "V" of your mat to give it some weight. Might work.
