What color is the polished concrete or what is the detail called so we know what to say to our concrete guy? Thank You

Hi this is two colors. A deep sienna with a rust overtone. Your concrete guy can show you a chart of colors. We started with the lighter of the two tones throughout with the darker around the perimeter and integrated the darker overtone in areas for shadowing.

I would suggest you have him make you up a sample board and note that it could completely look different pending the curing time for the concrete. This floor took us over a month to do to get it to look this way and did not match the sample completely.

The concrete will accept the stain in areas differently pending on it's original cure time, etching buffing process. The polish really brings out the beauty of the floor but you have to go in knowing it takes work to keep it looking good if you put it in a high traffic area. In this project it was suggested to re-buff or re-apply a new polish coat every two years. The owners were good with that.

Thanks...if you stain to the lighter tone I think you will be happy as the concrete has a natural pull to go dark from the start, Good luck, my clients love this floor also, it makes the room and is a jaw dropping beautiful in person.

how did you achieve the high gloss finish? If you were doing an old house that already has colored concrete, how would you achieve getting the old paint off and what are the next steps.

Of coarse I do, we got them out of a company called Dania Furniture.

We typically have to grind /sand down a new floor so not sure how much your paint would have etched into the current concrete but if is comes off great. We used two colors on this floor, then added a gloss finish. I only recommend a professional to do this as the gloss finish can be tricky and this was a very tedious process.
