Odd Green & Orange "Pineapple" Fruit?

This odd fruit was found on the shoreline at Keaukaha Beach Park in Hilo, Big Island (HI). It looked like a pineapple from a distance, but up close more like a cluster of huge candy corn. I'm guessing it was maybe around ~7" long or so? What is it?
