Looking for Security Screen door for 50's home in Seattle

Hello,

I've been trying to find an interesting, vintage-like security screen door the front door of my 50's house. All searches lead to Home Depot & Lowes whose doors that are not appropriate in their design (craftsman, spanish colonial, etc.) or would possibly work if it was in a different color. I've also looked at lots of catalogs of manufacturers who don't have distributors in the northwest. I've been keeping my eyes on salvedge inventories and craigslist.

Do we not do decorative security screen doors here? I thought I'd seen them around.

Any help would be great.

Ballard iron works could make you one. We used them for a stair railing and they do nice work

Most of those are certainly not MCM at all. I honestly just use a phantom screen and forget the whole security thing. No one in their right mind is going to break in while you are home and honestly if they want in that bad no screen door will stop them.

Thanks to all with your helpful suggestions, especially the local recommendations. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Patricia - I said my house was built in the 50's not that it was "MCM" or that I was interested in maintaining a strict MCM style. And while you might find them aesthetically unpleasing, for people with children or pets that wish to open doors to catch a cross-breezes rather than using AC, screen doors are a nice solution. That I want one with an architectural quality has more to do with the idea that the design of my front gate could be continued to my front door.
