All gas range top or range?

We have finalized on BlueStar for our gas cooking. However, I am still torn between the range top and range. With the limited kitchen space, it makes aesthetic sense to go with a range. However, I am concerned about the longevity of the range. I can see that the cooking portion of the range (and the range top) is fairly straightforward mechanics. If something breaks, it looks easy to repair / replace.

Also, Its relatively cheaper to replace an electric wall oven if the unit fails (say about $2000). If the oven fails in the range beyond repair, the entire unit must be replaced (say about $7000). I use the oven about 2x a month for baking chicken. I also use the oven 3x a week to make yogurt at home by heating the oven to 115 deg and then turning it off.

Given that I have never worked with a gas oven before, I'd like some feedback on performance, reliability and longevity. Please share your experience.
