I cannot comment on weed type but Triclopyr will work on most broadleaf weeds and kill certain types of turf grasses.

4oz per gallon is way too much. I would first make certain it is safe to use with your turf type and not use more than 0.5oz per gallon per 1000sq. ft coverage. You'll not want to apply in temps over 80 and be cautious of overspray and vapor drift. It is very volatile(ester based) and will harm ornamentals in close proximity. Best to apply 2-3 days before or after mowing and not apply when rain expected within 24-48hrs, or on a windy day.

For lawn, best to use a surfactant and a nozzle with larger droplet size to avoid misting. For woody brush, an oil emulsion works better.

I use triclopyr in the fall just after first frost to rid lawn of creeping charlie. Works well but must use caution. This stuff will kill trees, grass, brush, shrubs and most everything else. Read label well.
