Does it smell good? If so, it's mock orange. If not, it's English dogwood. At least that's what it looks like. Sorry, I don't know the botanical names.

Thanks DG. I googled those two names and it appears it's the same plant, two different names. I plan to get one. It's beautiful!

It may be the same plant, but one smells gorgeous and the other doesn't. If you want scent, make sure you get the right one. I had the English Dogwood variety with no scent. I wanted the Mock Orange with scent. I was terribly disappointed, because while it was a pretty plant, I wanted scent.

I thought it was mock orange too..... We had one growing up in MO... it does not grow here in z10 Florida.... however, the mock orange, or orange jasmine which also smells like the MO mock orange does grow here in FL. However, it is HARD to find in nursery's now because at one point they thought that it contributed to citrus greening.... has been debunked but still hard to find because people are still misinformed..... the flowers are not nearly as pretty but if you are looking for scent you might want to try the orange jasmine kind..... one thing about the mock orange in MO that kind attracks LOTS of butterflies. IT is a great nectar plant. We use to get lots of Zebras and Tigers and Red Admirals on it.
