Thank you for all the advice. To answer your question, yes I can paint if I choose to. Also, I too was thinking that painting the end wall a navy color would be a good option. However, I am at a stand still with the option of putting the head of the bed in the middle of the window. Doing so would make for a good solution to wall mount the TV on the opposite wall, so that I can watch it while I am resting. If I did choose to do this however, would the accent wall look better on the end wall or on the window wall? That is the biggest problem I am facing at the moment. Any input?

Accent walls generally look better on unbroken walls. I would be inclined to do something like this on the end wall if you turn the bed.

Why not put the bed with the foot pointing towards the window, and the TV beside the window? I wouldn't like my headboard in front of a window.

I would like to watch TV while sitting up in bed. I do not have any current furniture to keep in mind, however I would like to eventually get a bedside table or two. I believe that all the storage I am going to need is going to be under the bed. The closet will soon be turned into a make shift office, so any other storage can be organized in there. Finally the carpet is a medium to light brown.

I would normally agree about not placing the headboard in front of the window. Of course with my room being so small, it seems I only have about three positions to place the bed. On the end wall, the wall aligned with the door, or the wall with the window. I believe the idea of placing the head of my bed on the wall with the door can be eliminated. Primarily due to the fact that if I center the bed on that wall, then I would have to offset the TV to one side of the window. This seems like it would bring a sense of asymmetry into the room. Which I really don't like the sense of asymmetry.

So, at least in my opinion, there are only two options for bed placement. The window wall or the end wall. If I place the bed on the end wall, then I have an issue with TV placement. If I place the bed on the window wall then I might run into an issue with covering up the window.

What would everyone think if I did place the bed on the window wall, but had a lower platform bed? Perhaps something that would not be high enough to cover any of the window. Let me know your thoughts.

You can create balance (which is different from symmetry) by placing something large on either side of the window. TV on one side, large piece of art, tall plant or furniture on the other side. You said you wanted greenery so a large plant would take care of that.

The other option is to leave the bed with the foot facing the closet, and put the TV on either side wall on an articulating arm. These are easy to move so the TV is at the right viewing angle, then just push it flat against the wall when you are done watching.

Since your window is low, and that you want to put storage under your bed, you will be covering the window even with the platform and mattress. And I don't like the look of a bed without a headboard. Since you are a renter, is your landlord OK with a very dark paint color? You don't want to lose your deposit when you move out.

Funny you should bring up my landlord. I have been staying here for around 12 years and so many things around the house have yet to be addressed. Such as new carpets, a new dishwasher, and several other things that are considered his responsibility to either repair or replace. Paint being one of those things. And after requesting all of these things over the many years, very nicely I might add, he has still yet to accomplish a single one. So yes, I am going to paint it whatever color I choose to. Regardless of what he has to say.

Also I am not really worried about the deposit because I will paint it back to the original color when I move out anyway. Sorry for rambling on about my landlord. Just thought it was funny that someone brought it up. Thanks for the concerns though.

I would strongly consider putting the bed on the door wall, uncentered. If you disregard the room entrance and consider a foot or two before the closet as "office space" you end up with a "square" you can call your bedroom. The window wouldn't be centered but you'd have the TV to the left of it, giving that part of the wall balance. Besides, you can use curtains to disguise the window. Do I calculate right that you'd have about 30 inches at the foot of your bed if you placed it this way? Perhaps you can try taping out the TV on the wall with painter's tape to get a feel?

You could always get crazy and mount the tv from the ceiling. It would allow you to keep the bed where it is.

Sorry i have not posted anything in a few days everyone. I have been rather busy with moving my brother and painting my bedroom. As you can tell, I have decided on a color of grey. I have also decided that I want the head of my bed to be on the end wall. I know that the TV placement it's going to be strange, but I was thinking that I would place it in the closet. This is to act as both a computer monitor and a television my office closet.

Also, I would like opinions on wether or not I should make the end wall an accent wall. And possibly what color it should be.
