help with cabinet hardware

I can’t figure out what to do with cabinet hardware in my kitchen. I found pulls I like, but would it be strange to put 3” pulls on the small cabinet doors, 5 inch on the tall cabinets and drawers, and two large 8” pulls on the pot drawers. There are also small bar knobs, but I don’t know about them. I’m lost here and don’t know what to do. Any other cabinet hardware suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I like a little traditional mixed with some modern farmhouse. The different sized cabinets are difficult to me.

If you like a more traditional/farmhouse look, knobs on the cabinets tend to be a more “classic” look - it will also save you money too. Use pulls on your drawers and size each pull based on the drawers width (I believe the general rule of thumb is 1/3 of the width of the drawer - so if you have 36” drawers under your range top, you’d want 12” pulls, and if you have 18” drawers, you’d want 6” pulls).

I think your new kitchen is beautiful. In my personal opinion, brushed nickel/stainless steel hardware more often than not dates a kitchen unless executed properly. Perhaps you might consider chrome or polished nickel (more traditional) or matte black (more modern farmhouse) if you haven’t already. Again - that’s just my personal opinion. I think whatever you do is going to look amazing - and it’s your kitchen, so make sure you get what YOU like and not what people on here tell you is or isn’t in style!

I like your hardware choice. I prefer knobs for cabinets. It is easy to hook a finger on them to open the cabinet. My pulls are 6 inches wide for all drawers. (I'm confused how they measure them. They might say 3" center to center.)

Beautiful kitchen!! Follow Generals advice and make sure you pick something you love. I would do a “photo” search of upper cabinets with pulls versus knobs. You have a lot of upper cabinets and having pulls on each of them could be a bit overwhelming. Matte black would look great and give you the Modern Farmhouse feel, especially if you have any other matte black fixtures.

Put the same pulls on everything for continuity and usefulness. It will look great.

My kitchen has knobs everywhere, installed by the previous owners. Pockets tend to get caught on our knobs even though the knobs themselves aren't very big. We recently finished our basement and had a kitchenette installed and I did all pulls to change it up. I used the same size pulls on both the cabinets and drawers but I didn't have any large drawers for pots and pans. I think it would be fine to go with different sizes.

I disagree with Anglophilia. Pulls should be approx. 1/3 the width of the drawers, and should vary in size along with the size of the drawer. If you instead make the pulls all the same size, the larger drawers will seem to have puny pulls, and the smaller drawers will seem to have oversize pulls. Pulls are manufactured in different sizes for this reason.

To help you with pull sizes, make aluminum foil templates of the pulls in the different sizes you are considering, and hold them up against your doors and drawers. This visual aid is an excellent way to choose the right size pulls.

OP - not what you asked, but I can't help myself - the pulls you show have some nooks and crannies. They may be more of a chore to clean than pulls without that added design. You may have to get out the Q-tips. Just wanted to mention.
