We went to Sherwin-Williams today and got a quart of urbane bronze to begin the process of painting the shutters! The paint and the brushes were on sale and I had a $10 gift card so we are happy!

Next...it matches the roof perfectly. More, tomorrow;)

From what I can tell, it looks very nice!

    TA DA!!
Thank you Ann for suggesting this color. I would’ve never found this color or tried this color without your suggestion, and your encouragement. OH loves it! He finished it this morning. It even has a greenish cast a color that I was wanting. I hope you can see it in the picture from the side or down at the bottom of the shutters near the shrubs.

Love the new color! Ann picked a winner!

Thank you Ladma, it really means a lot to me :) Ann really did great with her suggestions! We are sooo appreciative. :)

    It looks fabulous gls!!!

    Thank you tgb1! 😊

Looks perfect. Ann always has such great suggestions.

I absolutely love it, Linda. I think it looks perfect on your home - frankly even better than I expected it would (and I had high confidence it would be a good choice).

Yes, you're right that entire color strip has just a tad bit of a greenish tint to it. I love the whole strip for exterior surfaces. Intellectual Gray is on the light end, Porpoise is in the middle, and Urbane Bronze toward the dark end.

Just to show you other colors on that same Urbane Bronze color strip, this Houzz house is painted in Intellectual Gray with Porpoise trim. As I mentioned, I love the entire strip, from light to dark.

Linda, I love the before and after of your home - old roof/shutters vs new roof/shutters. It was a nice looking home before but I think it's just beautiful now and I like the after much better than the before.

Thank you Marrymaid and Ann! :) Those are pretty, Ann. My friends can’t believe the difference the colors make on the home. More cheerful and fresh!

Flo has suggested adding two more items in the same color. As it turns out the planters at the garage are close enough! Serendipity!

Oh yeah, that planter looks very close in color.

Here it is a week later and does mom still have not opened up. LOL

    What hasn't opened up?

    The mums?

    Oh yes, that makes sense!

Geez, I just read that a Navy plane crashed into a house in a Foley neighborhood! I hope it wasn’t anywhere near you Gls!

Your place is beautiful and hopefully you're all right

Yes, it happened on the other side of town, about 5-6 miles. Very sad. As you may be aware we are very close to Pensacola Naval air station. And we also have the training field very nearby and the trainer planes fly around us all the time. They are red and white.

Yes I am, I was talking about my moms. They are starting to open up. I will take a picture in the morning. It is it silly auto correct.

Slowly but surely the mums are opening...

After a month of living in our house, the repairs are done in the condo! Yay! So we will wait until Thursday or Friday before we move back into the condo. After this “ tropical storm “ passes. ;))

Wonderful news Linda! What an ordeal that has been.

Yay! We are back to the condo and my favorite ocean view! It’s been an exhausting two and a half days. I am glad that finally this afternoon I can sit down and relax.

Happy Halloween! It looks more like Christmas

We had over 4" last week what did you get?

Happy, it was about 5”. That’s twice what was forecasted. We are getting a lot of melting now, and it will be in the high 60’s by the end of the week.

    My view😉😅

Tonight was another beautiful moon rise.

Depo, How was your trip to Mexico? I hope it all went well.

Actually we are here now! It’s absolutely beautiful. There are people here, but we’ve kept our distance. No restaurants or bars for us. Everyone has to wear masks while walking on the property, the staff wears them at all times. The plane was great. Alaska is still blocking the center seats and there were lots of empty rows. The pools along the beachfront seem as busy as ever, but we’ve always hung out at one near the back of the property anyway because there aren’t many people there. Here are pics from our balcony and one of the villa in front of our unit so you can get an idea of where we’re staying. I feel very safe here.

We went to Costco and Walmart the 1st day here to get food and booze. They take your temp before allowing you inside. Wally World wouldn’t let two people from the same household in together! We had to go back the next day for stuff we forgot and OH dropped me off to go in while he parked and met me inside. Ridiculous!

You know, given the local medical infrastructure, I would settle for erring on the side of ridonculous! It looks lovely, and I think that a lot of protection comes from our own actions!

Exactly Fiss. There is a lot of money down here. We used to call it Orange County South. Anyway, a few years ago lots of new luxury car dealerships popped up. The past couple of years it has been beautiful new hospitals. Hopefully we never see the insides of them, but...We are basically quarantining in our room, other than hanging out at the empty pool.

It looks warm and lovely. Have fun, stay safe.

Oh Depo, that Is wonderful that they are so protected for the customers. Your villa looks gorgeous and the view is amazing of course. Enjoy your stay. We just got notification today that they change the times on our flights on Delta to Cancun for February. I won’t be surprised if they are changed a couple more times so I never worry about it. So far this is the second change. ;))

Our flight had a couple of changes also. Par for the course these days!

To clarify my comment about Walmart yesterday. They asked at the door if we were married. We said yes and couldn’t go in together. There were lots of couples let inside, they just weren’t married, supposedly. That is why I called the policy ridiculous. Two ladies could go in together, no questions. Two men, no questions.

Swim-up bar is busy today! LOL!

    I am envious! ;))

Depo, we got another flight change and the email said to call if we wanted to change our flight! So I called and there were long delays so the gave a texting option. I used it to change our date from Monday, Feb 1, back up to Sunday, Jan. 31. And they even booked our seats, and leaving on Sunday was $19.95 cheaper! Crazy! We are flying Delta. No charge for flight change.

Gls, we had the same thing happen when we were supposed to go to Hawaii in September. I called and the agent said our flight was cancelled. They however booked us on another route, would we accept it? Heck no! SD to Seattle with a layover, then to Kauai. 13 hours. Cancelled it because of Covid restrictions in Hawaii.

I’m glad you could get your flight changed easily. Will you have any problem getting an extra night at the resort?

No, our time share is Saturday to Saturday. We will arrive on Sunday. Our one neighbor turns 90 and a party is planned on that Saturday night and we don’t want to miss it. ;)

We’re home now and playing the quarantine game. Not hard to do since our county was shut back down while we were gone.

    Ours has a partial shutdown

I figure we will self quarantine when we return. It won’t be a problem.
