Looking for your stories - LVP, laminate or engineered hardwood?

We are about to purchase flooring for our summer home (unheated and unused in the winter). Here, it’s dry and hot in the summer and 40 below in the winter. It’s a cabin so sand, sun and kids. It’s also our home so appearance and comfort is important.

Open concept, electrical heat. Install is on a plywood subsurface, which is level and in good condition, over an unheated crawl space. The cabin has moved very, very little over the years so shifting is not a concern.

It would be desirable to have a water resistant product that could last about 10-20 years. And, I am not a fan of area rugs at the beach.

Flooring professionals recommend LVP. I like
the way laminate looks.
