Had some cooking oil splatter on the deck and we attempted to clean it with hot water, dish soap and brush. But it seems like the hot water stripped the wood of its previous color and created these lighter patches. Whats the best way to remove the oil spots and get the wood color to be even? We were thinking scrub the whole deck with wood cleaner and apply a new coat of stain - will that work? Thanks much for your input.
