What do you mean by 'pull'. All of mine are putting us shoots (apart from the evergreens which are...evergreen)...but missing a bloom season after moving is not uncommon. They are usually tough plants with a huge rootmass so can cope with a certain roughness in their treatment...and will often regenerate from quite a small piece if a growth eye is present. I wouldn't be too hasty just yet.

My attempts to grow supposedly hardy deciduous agapanthuses have always resulted in rot in early spring (ie failure). It's likely that if you don't have any growth by now (hard to tell from what you wrote)...RIP.

Wasn't last year a record breaker for precipitation levels in NC (and much of the rest of the east coast)? Agapanthus are really unsuited to wet soils so I would consider that to be a big factor. And actual winter hardiness of these plants is a bit uncertain. Not all selections share equal cold tolerance and the dreaded combo of cold and wet may be the deciding factor.

Yes, and that's probably why I lose them in early spring (wet wet wet).

GG....oh my goodness did it rain a LOT last year!!! I think it did rot. I took it out and replaced it with great blue lobelia since it does well here.

Wait! Mine just showed above ground this morning! It's been in place for five years without blooming but I enjoy the textured foliage. Of course, if you're bored with it, it needs to go.

Yep, mine is still only half an inch out of the ground (I checked today). O, It seems the OP agapanthus is definitely toast now.

I was looking through a bunch of old photos (from maybe 4 years ago) thinking 'bloody hell, where did that go' and 'don't remember them'...it was staggering how many plants are no longer in my garden (yet it remains hopelessly stuffed and chaotic).

Cecily....whoops...I yanked it.:o I think the main issue is that I was tired of waiting for it to bloom. I put a nice great blue lobelia seedling in its place. :) Thanks for trying to warn me, though!

Campanula and Want...glad I am not the only one who continuously changes what is in the garden! Sometimes I feel bad getting tired of some things after a few years...but changing out is part of the fun. :)
