Once the stencil is down you will not notice the tile layout. Can you see the tile layout on my stenciled floor? Dont follow the tiles when you stencil. Pretend it is one gigantic piece of paper.

Nearly any stencil would work as long as it is an all over stencil. Here are a few. It just depends on your tolerance for busy designs. I love busy decor. Contrasting paint colors help to add to the business.

Also, the more involved the design, the less likely others will be able to notice your mistakes with the stencil.

You have 3 sizes of tile (big square, small square, and rectangle). If you found a stencil that came in both rectangle and square format, and could scale the size of the squares, then that would work. Alternatively, look for a square stencil that has a coordinating border and find a way to break the border so it looks natural (if it's a pattern like #### | #### | #### then break it into just #### or ## | ##).

I think this might work and could look really good - ilikefriday's floor looks better than any bathroom floor I've ever had (I'm a little jealous).

Thanks Pam A! I really dont think 3 different size stencils are needed. In fact, if you stencil each individual tile, I think it is more likely that it will look like it is diy. I started my pattern on a grout line. You can see that line in my photo. No other part of the stencil lines up on the grout lines. Overall it gives you the appearance that the tile is the size of each lay of the stencil.

It would be great if you could paint the floor! I like the idea of a stencilled pattern but I would use one size of stencil which would disguise the different sizes in your tiles.
